PetsBuds Data Deletion Policy
This Data Deletion Policy explains how PetsBuds handles account deletion, content deletion, pet profile deletion, privacy requests, backups, logs, moderation records, and other data removal requests.
1. Our Data Deletion Commitment
PetsBuds respects user privacy and gives users the ability to request deletion of certain account information and content. PetsBuds does not sell your personal information.
2. What You May Request to Delete
Depending on the feature and account status, you may request deletion of your account, owner profile, pet profiles, pet photos and videos, posts, post media, stories, comments, messages where possible, group content where possible, likes, bookmarks, follows, notifications where possible, invite records where possible, avatars, and other account-related content you provided.
3. Account Deletion
When your account is deleted, PetsBuds may delete, deactivate, anonymize, or restrict access to login access, owner profile, pet profiles, posts, uploaded media, comments, stories, likes, bookmarks, follows, messages where possible, group activity where possible, notifications where possible, and account settings.
4. Pet Profile Deletion
Deleting a pet profile may remove or affect pet name, type, breed, age, gender, weight, description, avatar, photos, videos, likes, comments, bookmarks, followers, and pet-related activity. It may also affect posts, stories, groups, or other features connected to that pet.
5. Post, Photo, and Video Deletion
When content is deleted, PetsBuds may remove it from public view and may delete or deactivate related files and database records. Deleted content may still temporarily exist in backups, caches, security logs, moderation records, reports, shared copies, screenshots, downloads, search indexes, or third-party caches outside PetsBuds’ control.
6. Comment Deletion
Deleting a comment may remove it from public view. PetsBuds may retain limited records of deleted comments for safety investigations, abuse prevention, moderation history, legal compliance, dispute resolution, security, or backups.
7. Message Deletion
Deleting a message from your account may not delete it from the other user’s account. If both users delete a message, PetsBuds may still retain limited records temporarily for safety, security, legal, backup, or abuse-prevention reasons.
8. Group Content Deletion
If you delete your account or request removal of group content, PetsBuds may remove or anonymize your group activity where possible. Some group content may remain if it is part of an ongoing discussion, posted by another user, needed for moderation or safety, or needed for legal or abuse-prevention reasons.
9. Likes, Follows, Bookmarks, and Activity Deletion
When your account is deleted, PetsBuds may delete or deactivate activity connected to your account, including likes, pet likes, group post likes, follows, bookmarks, pet bookmarks, notifications, feed activity, and discovery activity.
10. Reports and Moderation Records
PetsBuds may retain reports, moderation notes, enforcement records, and evidence even after account or content deletion to protect users, enforce rules, prevent repeat abuse, defend legal claims, cooperate with lawful requests, or maintain platform safety.
11. Security Logs and Technical Records
PetsBuds may retain IP addresses, login records, session records, device or browser information, error logs, upload logs, security events, abuse-prevention records, rate-limit records, and server logs for a limited period.
12. Backups and Cached Copies
Deleted data may remain in backups or cached copies for a limited period. PetsBuds will not intentionally restore deleted user content to active public use except where necessary for security, legal, safety, recovery, or operational reasons.
13. Data PetsBuds May Retain
PetsBuds may retain certain information when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, spam prevention, abuse prevention, child safety, animal welfare investigations, copyright records, payment or tax records if paid features are added, dispute resolution, enforcement, ban evasion prevention, backups, or legal claims.
14. Data PetsBuds Cannot Fully Control
PetsBuds cannot fully delete or control information outside PetsBuds systems, including screenshots, downloads, copies shared outside PetsBuds, search engine caches, browser caches, third-party archives, or information retained by third-party services.
15. Deactivation vs. Deletion
PetsBuds may offer account deactivation in addition to deletion. Deactivation may temporarily hide or restrict your account while preserving information in case you return. Deletion is intended to permanently remove or deactivate your account and related information, subject to exceptions in this policy.
16. How to Request Deletion
You may request deletion through account settings when available. If account settings do not provide the option you need, contact PetsBuds and include your username, account email, the content involved, and a clear description of what you want deleted.

17. Identity Verification
PetsBuds may need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. PetsBuds will not ask for your password by email.
18. Response Time
PetsBuds will try to respond to deletion requests within a reasonable time. Some requests may take longer depending on the data involved, account size, verification needs, safety or legal concerns, third-party providers, or request complexity.
19. Requests from Parents or Guardians
Parents or legal guardians may contact PetsBuds to request deletion of an account believed to belong to a child under 13. PetsBuds may ask for information needed to verify the request and review the account.
20. Requests from Authorized Agents
Depending on where you live, you may be able to use an authorized agent to submit a privacy or deletion request. PetsBuds may require proof of authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly.
21. Denied or Limited Deletion Requests
PetsBuds may deny, delay, or limit deletion requests when allowed by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, legal compliance, free expression where applicable, child safety, animal welfare, dispute resolution, policy enforcement, or legal claims.
22. Deleting Browser Data Is Not Account Deletion
Deleting browser data, clearing cookies, or deleting a future PetsBuds app from your device does not automatically delete your PetsBuds account or data.
23. Service Providers and Third Parties
PetsBuds may use service providers to host, store, secure, transmit, analyze, or support PetsBuds data. When PetsBuds deletes data, we may take reasonable steps to request deletion or restriction from service providers where required and appropriate.
24. Data Export
PetsBuds may later offer data export or download tools. PetsBuds may not be able to provide every type of data, especially data involving other users, security logs, moderation records, proprietary systems, or information that cannot be safely disclosed.
25. After Deletion
After deletion, you may lose access permanently, your pet profiles may no longer be visible, your posts and comments may no longer be visible, messages may remain visible to other participants where applicable, and limited records may be retained for legal, safety, security, or enforcement purposes.
26. Changes to This Policy
PetsBuds may update this Data Deletion Policy from time to time. Continued use of PetsBuds after changes means you accept the updated policy.

28. Plain-English Summary
You can request deletion of your PetsBuds account and certain content you created. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, moderation records, reports, or safety records, and PetsBuds cannot delete screenshots, downloads, search engine caches, or copies saved outside PetsBuds by other people.
