Getting Started

PetsBuds is a social community for pets and the people behind them. Users can create pet profiles, share posts, discover other pets, follow pets, join groups, send messages, and receive notifications.

PetsBuds works best when you create at least one pet profile. Your pet profile helps other users discover your pet, follow your pet, and interact with your posts.

Yes. You can add multiple pets to your account and manage them from your owner profile or pet-related pages.

PetsBuds is designed for many kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, horses, small animals, insects, and other companion animals.

Owner Profiles

Your owner profile represents you as the person behind your pets. It can include your profile image, name, location, and a short bio.

Yes. You can update your owner profile information from the edit profile page.

Other users may be able to view your owner profile when they visit your pets, posts, comments, groups, or other public activity.

Pet Profiles

A pet profile is a dedicated profile for your pet. It can include your pet’s name, type, breed, age, gender, weight, location, bio, photos, and videos.

Yes. You can add pet photos and videos where upload options are available.

Yes. You can edit your pet’s information after the pet profile has been created.

Yes. Other users can follow your pet so they can discover more of your pet’s activity on PetsBuds.

Posts

You can share pet photos, videos, captions, updates, funny moments, milestones, helpful tips, and everyday pet moments.

Yes. Users can like and comment on posts. Some actions may also create notifications.

Yes. Saving a post helps you find it again later.

Do not post content that is harmful, abusive, hateful, illegal, spammy, misleading, inappropriate, or unsafe for people or pets.

Stories

Stories are short pet moments that let you share quick updates in a story-style viewer. They are great for sharing simple, fun, or everyday moments that may not need a full post.

For example, you can share your dog catching a ball at the park, your cat playing with a toy, your bird singing, your turtle exploring, or your pet relaxing in a cute moment at home.

Stories help other users see more of your pet’s personality in a quick and easy way.

Yes. Stories can include pet photos or videos when those upload options are available.

Stories are not lost after they expire. Once a story expires, it is moved out of the active story area and becomes part of your story archive.

You can view your expired stories by opening the menu and selecting Story Archive. This lets you look back at stories you shared before, even after they are no longer shown as active stories.

The Story Archive option appears in the menu when your account has archived stories available.

Discovering Pets

You can discover pets through areas like New Buds, My Buds, posts, pet profiles, owner profiles, and groups.

New Buds are pets that have recently joined PetsBuds. This section helps you discover new pet profiles as they are added to the community.

You can view a new pet’s profile, like their pet profile, leave a comment, save the pet, or follow them so you can find them again later.

New Buds is a great way to welcome new pets and start connecting with more pet owners on PetsBuds.

My Buds are the pets you follow on PetsBuds. This makes it easier to keep track of pets you enjoy, want to visit again, or want to stay connected with.

You can find the pets you follow on the home page under the My Buds section. If you have followed pets, you may also see My Buds in the menu for quick access.

From My Buds, you can quickly return to followed pet profiles, view their activity, and continue interacting with them.

Likes, Comments, Saves, and Follows

Liking a post, pet, or group post shows support. It may also notify the owner depending on the type of activity.

Your comment appears on the post, pet, or group post where you added it. Comments help users interact and start conversations.

Saving, also called bookmarking, lets you keep pets, posts, or profiles you want to find again later. It is useful when you see something you like but do not want to search for it again.

For example, you can save a pet profile you want to revisit, a post you enjoyed, or content you want to show someone later.

If you have saved content, you may see My Saved in the menu. From there, you can quickly view the pets, posts, or profiles you have bookmarked.

Following a pet means you want to stay connected with that pet on PetsBuds. It helps you find that pet again and keep up with their activity.

When you follow a pet, you may be notified when that pet has new activity, such as new photos, new videos, new posts, new stories, or group activity.

Following pets also helps make your My Buds section more useful because it gives you quick access to the pets you care about most.

Groups

Groups are community spaces where PetsBuds users can connect around shared pet interests. A group can be based on a pet type, breed, topic, location, lifestyle, or activity.

For example, users may join groups for dog owners, cat lovers, bird owners, reptile keepers, senior pets, puppies, rescue pets, pet training, pet health tips, local pet meetups, or pets with similar personalities.

Inside a group, members can share posts, ask questions, comment, like group posts, and connect with other users who care about the same kinds of pets or topics.

No. You can enjoy PetsBuds without joining any groups. You can still create pet profiles, share posts, discover pets, follow pets, like, comment, save content, and use the main features of the community.

However, joining groups is highly recommended because it helps you expand your circle and connect with users who share similar pets, breeds, interests, locations, or experiences.

Groups make it easier to enjoy pets you have something in common with, ask questions, share helpful tips, and meet other pet owners who understand the same topics you care about.

Yes. You can create a group on PetsBuds as long as the group follows PetsBuds community rules and guidelines.

Groups should be created for pet-friendly topics, such as pet types, breeds, training, care tips, local pet communities, rescue pets, funny pet moments, or shared interests between pet owners.

Group names, descriptions, posts, comments, and invites should not include spam, scams, bullying, hateful content, illegal activity, inappropriate content, or anything that could harm people, pets, or the PetsBuds community.

Yes. If you are part of a group, you can participate by sharing posts, commenting on group posts, liking content, saving posts you want to find later, and connecting with other members.

Group posts are a good place to ask questions, share pet tips, post updates, show photos or videos, and talk with users who have similar pets or interests.

When participating in a group, make sure your posts and comments follow PetsBuds community guidelines and stay respectful, helpful, and pet-friendly.

Messages

Yes. PetsBuds includes messaging so users can communicate with each other, ask questions, connect about pets, groups, posts, or shared interests.

Messages must follow PetsBuds community guidelines. Do not use messages for bullying, harassment, spam, scams, threats, inappropriate content, illegal activity, or anything that could harm another user, pet, or the PetsBuds community.

Messages on PetsBuds should not be treated as fully private. Users should avoid sharing passwords, financial information, personal addresses, phone numbers, or sensitive information. Messages may be reviewed if needed for safety, support, reports, or enforcement of PetsBuds rules.

Yes. You can remove messages from your inbox or sent view. This helps you clean up your message list and manage conversations you no longer want to see.

Deleting a message from your account does not guarantee that the other person has not already seen it. If the message was delivered, the other user may have already read it or may still have access to their side of the conversation.

Because of this, always be careful about what you send. Avoid sharing private, sensitive, or personal information in messages.

Yes. Unread messages may show a badge in the menu so you know when something needs attention.

Notifications

You may receive notifications for activity such as new follows, post likes, pet likes, group post likes, post comments, pet comments, group post comments, messages, and other important PetsBuds activity.

Notifications help you keep track of what is happening with your pets, posts, groups, messages, and the pets you follow.

You can manage your notification preferences by going to Settings and turning available notifications on or off. This lets you choose which types of activity you want to be notified about.

Yes. From the notifications page, you can manage your notifications by marking them as read, or deleting notifications you no longer need.

Deleting a notification removes it from your notifications list, but it does not delete the original activity, such as the post, comment, like, follow, message, or group activity connected to that notification.

Privacy and Safety

PetsBuds does not sell your personal information. For more details about how PetsBuds collects, uses, stores, and protects information, please review our Privacy Policy.

Avoid sharing private information that could put you, your pets, or other people at risk.

PetsBuds is meant to be a friendly and safe community. The following behavior is not allowed:

PetsBuds provides report options to help keep the community safe. On content such as photos, posts, profiles, comments, replies, and other shared activity, you may see a Report This option.

Use Report This if you see content or behavior that may violate PetsBuds rules, including bullying, harassment, spam, scams, inappropriate content, hateful content, harmful behavior, or anything that may put users or pets at risk.

Reports help PetsBuds review possible problems and take action when needed. If you need additional help, you can also contact us at support@petsbuds.net.

Account Help

You can reset your password from the login page by using the password recovery option. This is helpful if you forgot your password or cannot access your account.

If you are already logged in, you can also change your password by going to Settings and using the password update option.

For your safety, choose a strong password and do not share it with anyone.

Yes. PetsBuds requires users to verify their email address to help protect accounts, reduce spam, and keep the community safer.

After creating an account, PetsBuds sends a confirmation link to the email address used during registration. The user must click that link to confirm that the email belongs to them.

Users may also add a phone number to their account. If a phone number is added, it must be verified before it can be used for account alerts, recovery, or important security notifications.

Yes. You can delete your account from your owner profile by going to My Profile > Edit Profile > Delete Account. You can also find this option in Settings by scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting Delete Account.

To help prevent accounts from being deleted by mistake, PetsBuds will ask you to type DELETE in all capital letters before the account is removed. Once confirmed, your account will be deleted and you will be signed out.

When you delete your account, PetsBuds permanently removes your owner profile, pet profiles, posts, uploaded profile images, pet media, post media, and related activity connected to your pets and posts.

This may include likes, comments, bookmarks, follows, and other activity connected to your account, pets, or posts.

Account deletion cannot be undone. Before deleting your account, make sure you are certain you no longer want access to your profile, pets, posts, and uploaded content.
