PetsBuds Safety & Reporting Policy
PetsBuds is designed to be a safe, respectful, pet-focused community. This policy explains how users can report problems, what should be reported, how PetsBuds may review reports, and what actions PetsBuds may take.
1. Our Safety Goal
PetsBuds wants to create a positive community where users can enjoy pets, share pet moments, discover pets like theirs, and connect with other pet lovers. PetsBuds may review, remove, restrict, preserve, or report content or activity that violates our rules, creates safety concerns, harms users or pets, or may be illegal.
2. When to Report Something
You should report content, accounts, messages, groups, pet profiles, posts, comments, or activity that may involve:
- Bullying or harassment
- Threats or intimidation
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Animal cruelty or unsafe pet handling
- Illegal animal sales or illegal wildlife activity
- Fake rescue emergencies
- Scams, fraud, spam, or phishing
- Hacking or security abuse
- Impersonation or fake accounts
- Privacy violations or doxxing
- Inappropriate human or pet content
- Child safety concerns or underage accounts
- Copyright or trademark issues
- Dangerous veterinary, medical, or safety advice
- Political campaigning or political fights
- Abuse of messages, groups, invites, reports, likes, follows, or comments
3. Emergency Situations
PetsBuds is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, animal cruelty in progress, child safety emergency, medical emergency, violent threat, fire, or urgent criminal activity, contact local emergency services or the proper authorities immediately. PetsBuds reports may not be reviewed instantly.
4. How to Report on PetsBuds
PetsBuds may provide report buttons, forms, links, or contact options for reporting posts, photos, videos, pet profiles, owner profiles, comments, messages, groups, group posts, invites, usernames, suspected underage accounts, copyright issues, security issues, or privacy issues.
5. What to Include in a Report
Helpful reports may include the username, pet profile, post, comment, message, group, link or screenshot if appropriate, reason for the report, urgency, whether anyone may be in danger, dates or times, and relevant details. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
6. What Happens After You Report Something
After a report, PetsBuds may review the reported content or account, review related activity, ask for more information, remove or limit content, restrict features, remove pet profiles or groups, suspend or ban accounts, preserve evidence, reject incomplete or false reports, take no action, or report serious activity to authorities when necessary.
7. Report Review Is Not Guaranteed to Be Immediate
Review timing may depend on seriousness, safety risks, whether minors or animals are involved, whether illegal activity or security abuse is involved, the information provided, report volume, and available moderation resources.
8. False or Abusive Reports
Do not misuse the report system. False, abusive, dishonest, repetitive, or bad-faith reports may lead to warnings, restrictions, suspension, or account termination.
9. Reporting Bullying, Harassment, or Threats
Report insults, personal attacks, threats, repeated unwanted messages, stalking, harassment, shaming, ban evasion, or attempts to encourage others to attack someone.
10. Reporting Hate Speech or Discrimination
Report content that attacks, threatens, dehumanizes, mocks, or promotes hatred based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, immigration status, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
11. Reporting Animal Cruelty or Unsafe Pet Content
Report animal abuse, animal fighting, neglect, unsafe handling, dangerous pet stunts, illegal animal sales, illegal wildlife activity, graphic animal injury posted for shock, fake rescue setups, or unsafe breeding and animal exploitation.
12. Reporting Scams, Spam, and Fake Rescue Emergencies
Report fake rescue emergencies, fake donation requests, fake adoption or breeder offers, fake giveaways, phishing links, requests for passwords or payment details, repeated unwanted messages, and accounts pretending to be PetsBuds staff or animal professionals.
13. Reporting Hacking, Security Abuse, or Suspicious Activity
Report suspicious logins, account takeover, phishing, malware, suspicious links, bot activity, scraping, attempts to bypass security, or attempts to access private accounts, messages, files, databases, or admin areas.
14. Reporting Privacy Violations
Report content that shares private information without permission, including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, login information, financial information, medical information, private messages, private photos or videos, personal documents, private location information, or information about children.
15. Reporting Inappropriate Human Content
Report nudity, pornography, sexually explicit content, sexualized images of minors, exploitative content, non-consensual intimate images, private images shared without permission, or content showing people in vulnerable, humiliating, or unsafe situations without permission.
16. Reporting Child Safety Concerns
Report sexual or exploitative content involving minors, grooming, pressure for private photos or location, adults asking minors to move conversations off PetsBuds, threats, blackmail, underage accounts, or content revealing a child’s private location, school, home, or routine.
17. Reporting Copyright or Trademark Issues
If you believe your copyrighted work, trademark, logo, brand name, artwork, photo, video, music, or other protected material was used without permission, follow our Copyright / DMCA Policy.
18. Reporting Dangerous Veterinary or Medical Advice
Report content that gives dangerous or misleading pet medical, veterinary, medication, emergency, nutrition, or treatment advice, especially advice that could seriously harm pets or people.
19. Reporting Group or Message Abuse
Report harassment, threats, spam, scams, phishing, hate speech, sexual content, political fights, fake rescue emergencies, coordinated abuse, privacy violations, illegal activity, animal cruelty, or animal fighting content in groups or messages.
20. Reporting Underage Accounts
PetsBuds is not for children under 13. If you believe an account belongs to someone under 13, report it and include the username, profile link if available, and why you believe the user is under 13.
21. Evidence Preservation
PetsBuds may preserve reported content, account information, related messages, comments, posts, photos, videos, upload records, login records, IP addresses, device or browser information, security logs, moderation notes, and enforcement history when needed for safety, legal, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, moderation, or enforcement reasons.
22. When PetsBuds May Contact Authorities
PetsBuds may contact or cooperate with law enforcement, emergency services, child safety organizations, animal welfare authorities, cybersecurity authorities, or other appropriate organizations when necessary or legally required.
23. User Safety Tips
- Keep your password private
- Do not share verification codes
- Use a strong password
- Be careful with people you do not know
- Do not send money to strangers
- Be cautious with rescue, adoption, breeder, or emergency donation claims
- Do not click suspicious links
- Do not share your home address, school, phone number, financial information, or exact location publicly
- Report suspicious messages or accounts
- Contact a veterinarian for pet health emergencies
- Contact local emergency services for immediate danger
24. PetsBuds May Not Resolve Every Dispute
PetsBuds may review reports and take action when rules are violated, but PetsBuds is not required to resolve every disagreement between users.
25. Appeals
PetsBuds may allow users to appeal certain moderation or enforcement decisions. Some serious safety, legal, child safety, animal cruelty, hacking, or illegal activity decisions may not be eligible for appeal.
26. Changes to This Policy
PetsBuds may update this Safety & Reporting Policy from time to time. Continued use of PetsBuds after changes means you accept the updated policy.
